Pat Kelleher
Chief Executive Officer

Pat was formerly President and CEO, Insurance and Wealth Management and President and CEO, U.S. Life Insurance at Genworth Financial. He also guided Genworth Financial through the 2008-2009 financial crisis as Chief Financial Officer.

Prior, at AEGON/Transamerica Reinsurance, Pat was Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer with overall responsibility for leading financial functions, providing access to capital markets funding, risk management, and leading the annuity reinsurance business.

While at Manulife Financial, Pat was Vice-President, Reinsurance, with overall responsibility for leading the global life and financial reinsurance businesses.

Pat began his career at Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada, with experience in financial management, information technology, actuarial, life insurance and annuity marketing and product management.

Pat is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, and a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants Association of Canada. Pat received his Bachelor’s degree from Franklin & Marshall College.

Josh Braverman
Chief investment Officer

Josh was previously Head of Legacy for AXA’s US business, with overall responsibility for AXA US’s Legacy life and annuity business lines as well as President and CEO of AXA Corporate Solutions Life Re. Prior to this, Josh was Chief Investment Officer and Treasurer as well as Head of Derivatives and Hedging for AXA US.

Prior to AXA Josh worked at AEGON where most recently he was Global Head of Derivatives with responsibility for developing and managing derivative programs on behalf of AEGON’s global businesses.

Before joining AEGON, Josh worked for the U.S. Treasury Department as a Sovereign Debt Advisor, advising foreign governments on overall debt management.

Josh began his career at Goldman Sachs as a fixed income trader and also worked for Deutsche Bank trading government and mortgage backed securities.

Josh holds a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania.

Brian Holland
Chief Marketing Officer

Prior to co-founding Somerset Re, Brian was Senior Vice President of the Life Solutions Group at Willis Re, a team responsible for building Willis Re’s entry into the life and annuity reinsurance marketplace.

As Principal in the advisory firm Mann Conroy Eisenberg & Associates, Brian created risk management and securitization solutions for insurers, reinsurers, banks and large benefit plans.

Brian served as Executive Vice President and member of the Board of Directors at Annuity & Life Re America, developing the new U.S. life reinsurance operations.

Brian was Vice President, Domestic and International Risk Management at ING Re. Serving as Global Chief Marketing Officer, he also developed ING Re’s entry into the Bermuda and Japan markets.

Brian also held senior marketing and underwriting positions at Transamerica Re and General Re. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management /Marketing from Providence College.

Mike LeBoeuf

Managing Director, Business Development

Michael was previously Chief Executive Officer of the US operations arm of Converge Re II, a Puerto Rico domiciled reinsurance start-up. Prior, he served as Chief Actuary for Prudential’s individual life insurance business in Hartford, Connecticut. In this role, he was responsible for developing policyholder actuarial balances on a statutory/tax/GAAP basis, pricing the business product portfolio and balancing profitability standards, managing captive reinsurance entities and individual life reinsurance relationships, and developing strategies for modernizing controls and workflows. Michael has also served as a Senior Director with WillisTowersWatson, Chief Life Actuary with Hartford Life, Executive Director with Ernst &Young LLP, Vice President with Aon Consulting, and began his career as Assistant Vice President with Chubb Life in New Hampshire.

Michael is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Michael is an Honors graduate, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of New Hampshire

Steeve Jean
Chief Actuary and Chief Risk Officer

Steeve joined Somerset Re in early 2017, after spending several years as a Principal with KPMG. He has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, working with international insurance groups and Big Four firms. Steeve has extensive experience with International Accounting Standards, reinsurance transactions, mergers and acquisitions, actuarial system implementations, stress testing and financial statement conversions.

Prior to KPMG, Steeve was a Vice-President at Transamerica where his responsibilities included financial reporting, capital management, acquisitions and reinsurance with financial oversight over international operations.

At Old Mutual, Steeve led a team responsible for both U.S. and Bermuda financial reporting.

Steeve spent several years at Ernst & Young where he led the delivery of large advisory projects. Steeve began his career with MetLife’s Canadian operations with a focus on financial management for both the group and individual life divisions.

Steeve is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Sherbrooke.
Steve Robb

Steve Robb
Chief Financial Officer

Stephen was previously EVP and Chief Financial Officer for AXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of AXA. In this role, he was responsible for all financial and actuarial matters, as well as the investment function of the company, and led a team of over 1,000 employees. In addition, he managed all Tax activities and Global Treasury functions to include capital, cash, FX, collateral, and liquidity management.

Steve joined XL as VP SEC Reporting in 2004 and progressively moved into positions of increasing responsibilities to include SVP Accounting Policy, Chief Accounting Officer and Group Controller, before being named CFO in March 2017. Prior, he was with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Bermuda as Senior Manager and Insurance Industry Group Leader, where he specialized in financial services, particularly insurance and reinsurance companies, with major clients to include ACE, Montpelier Re, Everest Re and White Mountains. Prior he was Manager and then Supervisor in their Insurance Group, and began his career with then Pricewaterhouse in Montreal 1994 as Senior Accountant.

Stephen graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Neuroscience from McGill University.

Scott Selkirk
Chief Underwriting Officer

Scott was previously the Head of Pricing at Standard Life of Canada’s Bermuda Branch where he led the evaluation of all new reinsurance opportunities and was responsible for client relationship management.

As Vice President at ACE Tempest Life Re, Scott was involved in all aspects of new business including pricing, client relations and treaty negotiation, covering both variable annuity guarantee and traditional life reinsurance solutions.

Prior to relocating to Bermuda in 2007, Scott worked for New York Life, ING, and MetLife where he held various actuarial roles, mainly focused on product development, where he worked closely with distribution teams to bring innovative and sophisticated life insurance solutions to market.

Scott is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Scott graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Statistics from Boston University.
